On December 7, 2015 Stickney Township saluted our service men and women at a special event held at both the North Clinic facility and the Louis S. Viverito Senior Center.

Daniel Drake landed at Omaha Beach shortly after the initial invasion. He is seen here at the Veterans Salute event with his daughter Donna. Daniel, who fought in both France and Germany, was awarded the Bronze Star and two Purple Hearts. He was later selected to be part of the honor guard at General George Patton's funeral.

Both Township sponsored events saluting area veterans on December 7, 2015 were well attended by veterans, their friends and families. Many brought photos of themselves during their service years. Some of those are presented here along with other hightlights of the events.

Gene Hewitt and Bill Hewitt served in the South Pacific.

In addition to her husband, Linda Koloza comes from a family of service men. Her father served in the Alleutian Islands during World War II. Her brother also served in the military.
